Why I’m partnering w/ Launchboom
Ok… it’s been a long time! And I hate to say it… I’ve been hard at work on OTHER things. Writing a book. Painting. Startup stuff. Life stuff.
Why has Inventures been on the back burner? Simple. Marketing Inventures and growing a community of fans is, by miles, way harder than designing and making the game itself!
This is where Launchboom comes in; they have a whole suite of tools to help makers market their products, grow their audiences, and successfully convert leads to Kickstarter backers. A few friends of mine (fellow game designers!) also partnered with Launchboom; one raised over $400k on her game!
Although Launchboom wasn’t cheap, I believe in Inventures, the game I’ve worked on for 4 years, more than you could possibly imagine. Learning about marketing is also super important for bringing things to life; if a tree falls in the forest, and nobody hears it, will anyone buy the game?
